British Cloud company Skyscape Cloud Services has won the VMworld 2013 European VMware vCloud Partner Award. The honor comes after the launch of its Channel Partner Program and the award was presented on October 14, 2013 by VMware's CEO Pat Gelsinger at the company's "Partner Day" event in Barcelona.

Skyscape offers a range of "genuine on-demand cloud computing" options that leverage technologies from its "Alliance Partners" which include QinetiQ, VMware, Cisco, EMC and Ark Continuity. The company has been heavily involved in the British government's G-Cloud program since it started in February 2012.

Skyscape has won key contracts from a range of public sector organizations through G-Cloud - currently known as G-Cloud 4 - a government-wide initiative focusing on introducing the cloud to government departments, local authorities and the UK's public sector.

“We are very honored to have been recognized for this accolade, which is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated team and our use of VMware technologies,” explained Skyscape Cloud Services' CEO, Phil Dawson. “As a company, we have achieved a great deal in a relatively short space of time and remain fully committed to continuing to deliver innovative, agile and cost-effective cloud solutions to our growing number of customers and partners.”
