Cloud storage services company Nirvanix is working with data center company CoreSite Realty Corporation to provide direct connections to its cloud storage at CoreSite’s Los Angeles-based "One Wilshire" data center. The move will enhance throughput, security and network performance consistency for CoreSite Customers without increasing costs.

Direct connections to Nirvanix cloud storage services will allow CoreSite customers to establish a private network connection between their IT infrastructure and the Nirvanix Cloud Storage Network™ and offer access to the Nirvanix Cloud File System™, bypassing Internet service providers and adding cloud storage capabilities to their existing IT capabilities. CoreSite customers choosing Nirvanix Hybrid Cloud Storage will be able to maintain a cloud storage capacity for regularly accessed data and increase on-demand capacity and bandwidth during peak business hours.

CoreSite customers will be able to connect to Nirvanix Cloud Storage services through a single-mode fiber 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps Ethernet cross connection or Any2 internet exchange connection via the "MyCoreSite" online customer portal. Customers can partition Nirvanix direct connections and are therefore able access public and private resources using the same physical connection.

"Nirvanix is the most logical progression from the enterprise data center to the enterprise cloud for applications such as backup, archive and large-scale content collaboration," explained Nirvanix CEO Dru Borden. "As a result of this collaborative effort, CoreSite customers running a cloud computing environment or a SAN storage infrastructure can now establish an immediate and direct connection into our cloud storage services for on-demand storage capacity, availability and bandwidth. This provides them with anytime, anywhere data access through live replicas spread across a global grid, enabling workflow and content collaboration across multiple diverse locations while maintaining data consistency."
