Cloud-based Information Security and Messaging Solutions Provider SilverSky Selects IBM's SoftLayer for Cloud Email Security

Cloud-based information security and messaging solutions provider SilverSky has selected IBM's SoftLayer to support its cloud email security solutions. The company's Email Protection Suite will run on SoftLayer's cloud platform and allow global businesses to move email workloads and sensitive data into the cloud in a "secure and cost-effective way".

SilverSky's choice of SoftLayer was based on its ability to enhance the company's ability to customize and scale its customer's environments as their business needs dictate. The SoftLayer platform provides SilverSky with cutting edge disaster recovery services including automated redundancy and immediate recovery. SoftLayer's global data center network also offers SilverSky the ability to extend its global footprint as IBM’s global sales channel will distribute its options.

SilverSky manages in excess of 500 million "security events" on a daily basis and provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to around 6,700 customers including companies in financial services, retail, healthcare, energy, critical infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. SoftLayer has 13 data centers in the United States, Asia, and Europe and a global points of presence network.
