Hybrid Hosting Provider UnitedLayer Launches Vancouver Datacenter

August 07, 2014

Hybrid hosting provider UnitedLayer has launched a new Vancouver, Canada-based datacenter. The company has headquarters in San Francisco, California, USA and alongside hybrid hosting offers a range of cloud, disaster recovery and colocation options suitable for companies of all sizes. Through data centers in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Ashburn and Toronto, and now Vancouver, Canada, the company caters to a broad customer base which includes government agencies.

UnitedLayer's move to Vancouver enhances its ability to provide "one-stop" hybrid cloud hosting services. Hybrid clouds allow organizations to utilize existing IT infrastructure and UnitedLayer's offerings form a bridge between "legacy IT" (including colocation and onsite servers) and the cloud approach that is more currently prevalent. Its solutions establish a single network that shares an IP address and firewalls.

"UnitedLayer's hybrid approach allows a business to take advantage of the scalability and cost-effectiveness that cloud computing offers without having to jettison its legacy infrastructure – whether it be on-premise VMware cloud or even colocation," explained UnitedLayer's CEO, Abhijit Phanse. "UnitedLayer provides our customers with a true hybrid cloud and a vision for a long term partnership, allowing them to plan for its IT infrastructure needs for today, yet helping them grow as their business evolves over time."
