Irish Provider eircom Business Announces Cloud Technology Partnership with ePubDirect

Irish provider eircom Business has announced a cloud technology partnership with Cork-based digital publishing company ePubDirect. The partnership aims to support eircom in achieving its objective of becoming the largest e-book supplier to the book and online retailing industry. The partnership was signed for a three year period and was valued at €120,000 ($165,400).

eircom will provide cloud computing and network services to support ePubDirect’s Internet-based business model which requires ongoing availability.

eircom was established in 2010. The company digitizes books and promotes eBook titles through online retailers. The company manages all aspects of eBook distribution on behalf of its customers include "major Irish, UK, European and US publishing houses".

The company has established an Amazon Web Services-based cloud computing infrastructure that will allow ePubDirect to migrate all aspects of its online presence to the cloud with the aim of reducing costs related to direct in-house IT management. “We are delighted to be working so closely with such an exciting and fast growing business that is truly utilising technology to forge ahead in the global marketplace," explained eircom Business' Director of Cloud Services, Enda Doyle.
