Global information technology and communications solutions provider Fujitsu has signed a contract for the purchase of French cloud company RunMyProcess (RMP).

Established in 2007, RMP was previously recognized by research company Gartner as a "Cool Vendor". It offers integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) services that enable a broad customer base to create business critical applications through the integration of existing services from both cloud and on-premise sources.

RMP’s iPaaS solutions enable organizations to maximize the efficiency of cross-organizational business processes by utilizing public cloud and on premise services and full scalability. At the time of sale, RMP had 300 projects in 45 countries with partnerships in 25 countries.

Fujitsu is a household name with in excess of 170,000 staff in around 100 countries. The company earned 4.5 trillion yen (US$54 billion) at the end of the last fiscal year (March 31, 2012). Its purchase of RMP will enable the Japanese company to expand its global cloud offerings through the addition of iPaaS services to its portfolio.

Alongside plans to broaden its cloud footprint, Fujitsu has also stated that it will establish a Global Software Center in the United States. Built in Silicon Valley, California, the Global Software Center will act as a hub for the company’s cloud activity.
