Private Equity Investment Firm GI Partners to Acquire Cloud Computing and Data Center Provider Peak 10

Private equity investment firm GI Partners (GI) is to acquire cloud computing and data center provider Peak 10, Inc. The company has signed a “definitive agreement” to make the purchase but financial details have not been released.

GI Partners was established in 2001 and is based in Menlo Park, California. The company is involved in a number of sectors and has accounts totalling $10 billion. It is involved in key investments including pension funds in North America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. Peak 10 was established in 2000 and offers hybrid cloud options alongside data center and managed services. The company has headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina and owns and manages 24 data centers located in the United States.

"This is a pivotal time in the IT infrastructure space," explained Peak 10’s Chief Executive Officer and President, David Jones. "Our industry continues to experience dynamic change with shifts and enhancements to virtual environments and the promise of the cloud.
