Canadian Cloud Backup Services Provider Storagepipe Announces New Texas Datacenter

Canadian cloud backup services provider Storagepipe has announced it has opened a new datacenter in Texas, USA. The move is a response to increased customer demand and enables the company to offer customers a “more distributed geographic footprint”.

Established in 2001, Storagepipe specializes in off-site backup and disaster recovery services. Its online backup, business continuity, archiving and disaster recovery services can be accessed through white label and wholesale partners, or directly through the company itself.

Storagepipe’s new center offers tight security and provides a strong focus on FISMA, HIPAA and PCI DSS compliance. It is designed to ensure that data which is housed in the cloud receives the same level of security that is available through customers’ IT departments, but without the inherent high costs attached.

The datacenter was built after receiving input from partners including Managed Services Providers, VARs and telecoms. It is connected to a major communications hub and provides onsite security guards and extensive interior and exterior surveillance. Security extends to biometric systems and the structure of the center offers concrete bollards and steel-lined walls. It also features perimeter fencing and bulletproof glass.

"This new datacenter launch represents an important step in our company's evolution,” explained Steven Rodin, CEO of Storagepipe. “We aim to provide the broadest range of services, backed by professional and attentive support and we also recognize that certain markets and industries have unmet requirements which require specialization from cloud services."
