Cloud Application Services Provider Velocity Technology Solutions Acquires Hosting and Managed Services Provider velos-IT
US-based cloud application services provider Velocity Technology Solutions has acquired British hosting and managed services provider velos-IT. The deal extends Velocity’s cloud application services footprint into Europe and gives velos-IT the opportunity to leverage Velocity’s “Universal Cloud Services” and provide customers in 25 countries with a cloud offering. Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed, but velos-IT’s founder and Managing Director, Jim McInnes was confirmed as Velocity’s General Manager in Europe.
Velocity Technology Solutions has headquarters in New York. The company provides virtual private cloud solutions for business applications and managed disaster recovery services through facilities in Minneapolis, Seattle, Denver, Tampa, and London, Canada. velos-IT, established in 2004 and located in Glasgow, Scotland, is recognized as a fast-growing UK IT company and employees around 100 staff.
“Velocity and velos-IT share a common set of core values and a reputation for technology innovation and customer service,” explained Velocity’s CEO, Tom Bruno. “The acquisition of velos-IT furthers our global services footprint and immediately strengthens and expands our Universal Cloud Services offering to include Oracle E-Business Suite.
