Cloud hosting and colocation services provider Green House Data has expanded its gBlock Cloud offering into Newark, New Jersey. The company partnered with DuPont Fabros Technology and Net2EZ to establish what the company is calling "the world’s greenest cloud" on the East Coast of the United States.

The company's new location is a SSAE 16 - Type II compliant solar-powered data center covering in excess of 175,000 square feet. It is rated Gold LEED and complies with the company’s environmental commitments, as well as providing a 1.3 PUE (or below) and 100% SLA.

The Newark gBlock cloud will be key to the company providing nationwide access to its cloud and cloud disaster recovery services. It sees the Green House Data cloud cater to businesses and other organizations that require low latency and high performance access across the entire United States and Europe.

“The Green House Data cloud now blankets the entire nation,” explained Green House Data's president, Shawn Mills. “We are proud to give our customers a geographically diverse cloud that is highly available, load balanced across locations, and provides additional failover in the case of an unforeseen event.”

The Newark gBlock cloud will offer the same standards and pricing offered by the company's other locations - Cheyenne, Wyoming and Portland, Oregon. It was recently awarded the Certificate of Environmental Stewardship from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
