Cloud Hosting Services Provider eApps Hosting Announces New Backup Service

Cloud hosting services provider eApps Hosting has announced the launch of a new backup service for businesses. Called the 'Enterprise Backup Service', the service features Idera, Inc.'s Server Backup Manager and is available to the company's cloud hosting 'Virtual Machine' customers. The service is available through customers' current eApps Hosting Portal.

eApps Hosting caters to around 5,000 customers in more than 125 countries. The company manages around 15,000 domains. Using Idera’s web-based administrative interface, eApps Hosting's Virtual Machine customers now have full control over scheduling and administering Virtual Machine backups, all of which are stored within eApps Hosting's network.

Rather than backing up individual files, the system provides 'block level' backups. This reduces backup time and Input/Output (I/O). In addition, backups are fully encrypted, and to reduce the potential for data loss, backups can be scheduled to occur regularly after periods of only a few minutes. An optional free-of-charge plugin ensures MySQL backup integrity by ensuring MySQL backups have a "clean cut-off". The system also allows users to restore individual files, directories, or even full virtual machines.

eApps Enterprise Backup Service is offered at around $15 per account per month, with a 30 day trial available. In addition, there is a 50% discount on the first month of service for customers who use the following promotion code at signup: SAVEONVM1M.
