Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) Survey Suggests 69% of British Companies Utilize One Cloud-based Service or More
A Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) survey has suggested that 69% of British companies utilize one cloud-based service or more. The company's survey, which drew results from questions answered by 250 executives and "business decision-makers", also suggested 91% of those polled were very satisfied with the cloud-based solutions they used. Established in 2009, the Cloud Industry Forum is a not-for-profit company which provides certification that guarantees cloud service providers follow a "Code of Practice". It also "champions and advocates" businesses and individuals' adopting cloud-based services. CIF's survey also suggested that 68% of companies that employ cloud services plan to extend cloud service usage in the coming year. In addition, 86% companies polled already had an "on-premise server room or data center" at the time they decided to utilize cloud solutions. This suggests typical cloud users utilize a hybrid IT infrastructure which brings together on-premise capability, the cloud, and hosted services. The survey also suggested that 13% of "first-time adopters" were motivated by the cloud's flexibility, while other companies were motivated by "operational cost savings". Why did you adopt the cloud?
