Cloud service delivery platform provider Parallels has started supporting the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider Program. Microsoft’s new program was announced at its Worldwide Partner Conference and gives Microsoft’s channel partners greater opportunity to resell Microsoft Office 365.

Established in 2000, Parallels employs 900 people worldwide and has a presence in North America, Europe, Africa, Australia. It has become the first company to support Microsoft's new program by offering Parallels SmartStart for Office 365 - a cost-effective solution that offers access to services such as Windows Azure Pack, Microsoft Exchange 2013, and Microsoft Office 365 Syndication. It also allows Microsoft-approved partners to establish and sell hosted services with Office 365 subscriptions.

Around 60,000 web hosts and other providers leverage Parallels Automation to provide cloud services. To date, Parallels' partners have provided 1.5 million Office 365 and Exchange business accounts using the Parallels platform. Around 17 Microsoft Office 365 syndication partners utilize Parallels Automation, while around 75 hosting providers offer Hosted Exchange and cater to approximately 830,000 hosted email accounts globally. The launch of Microsoft's Cloud Solution Provider Program offers Microsoft channel substantial opportunities, allowing Parallels Automation partners to offer Microsoft cloud services as soon as they are available.

“SmartStart is an exciting new program that lowers the barrier to entry for service providers to take advantage of cloud services offered by Microsoft,” explained Parallels' Chief Executive Officer Birger Steen. “Service providers will now future proof their Microsoft investments by having access to the latest innovations as soon as they become available.”
