EMEA Compliant Email Archiving Added to Cloud IT Services and Business Applications Company Intermedia's 'Office in the Cloud'

EMEA compliant email archiving has been added to Cloud IT services and business applications company Intermedia's "Office in the Cloud". The move comes on the heels of the company's recent acquisition of British identity and access management vendor, SaaSID.

Established in 1995, the company, whose corporate headquarters are in Mountain View, California, is the world's largest "one-stop shop for cloud IT services and business applications". Its Office in the Cloud solution caters to SMBs and provides hosted Exchange, hosted PBX, and SecuriSync file sync and share options. The company has 90,000 customers and 700,000 users.

Office in the Cloud allows customers to manage rising email volumes and industry regulations that require businesses to maintain and store business communications. With a cloud-based Email Archiving service, Intermedia integrates email storage, security and recovery features. Features of the company's email solution include full capture across a range of devices and platforms, including POP/IMAP accounts, alongside unlimited storage, users and retention time. Archived email is accessed through Intermedia's HostPilot control panel. HostPilot allows administrators full control and allows them to sync Intermedia's cloud services with an on-premise Active Directory.

"Compliant Email Archiving adds protection against legal and regulatory issues beyond the data security, backup and reliability levels for which Intermedia is already known," suggested Intermedia's Managing Director, EMEA, Ed Macnair. "Our cloud already assures business continuity for all of our customers. Email Archiving adds to that by storing emails in a EU-based, tamper-proof data center so they are formally admissible as evidence, compliant with industry regulations and protected against accidental or intentional deletion by employees."
