Leading Scottish Boarding School Chooses iomartcloud Mail Filter for Spam Solution

Kilgraston School, an independent Catholic all-girl boarding and day school located in Bridge of Earn, Perthshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, has chosen iomartcloud Mail Filter to protect its students and staff against spam mail. Voted "Independent School of the Year" ahead of 27 other independent schools, Kilgraston is one of the United Kingdom's leading independent schools.

The school chose iomartcloud - part of iomart Group plc and a leading British hosted cloud services provider with offices in Glasgow and London - based on the recommendation of its IT support company, Pinnacle Technology Group. Kilgraston transitioned to iomartcloud when its former spam solution, Postini, was withdrawn as one of Google's services in August 2012.

Being a school environment, rigorous spam protection is of utmost importance to Kilgraston School and iomartcloud's email filtering solution now protects the email of over 400 of its pupils and staff. The system is accessed via an Internet-based Control Panel which enables the school to apply a variety of filtering levels and establish its own filtering policies for particular groups of users. Based on the comments of Gavin Muirhead, Kilgraston School's ICT Manager, the system has clearly improved productivity at the school.

“Historically we were getting more spam than actual email," explained Mr. Muirhead. "We no longer have to trawl through hundreds of emails to find the one that’s important. iomartcloud’s mail filtering is efficient to the point that I don’t have to pay any attention to it. It just gets on with its job and I get on with mine.”
