Microsoft Cloud Event Takes Place in San Francisco on October 20, 2014
A Microsoft cloud event will take place in San Francisco, USA on October 20, 2014. The company's CEO Satya Nadella will be present, as will Scott Guthrie, head of Microsoft’s Azure. The news comes in the wake of the corporation's new Windows 10 operating system preview being held in San Francisco.
Holding the event in the area is seen as means of encouraging its numerous startups to adopt Azure as opposed to the cloud solutions of its competitors. Azure has not seen as much startup adoption as, for instance, Amazon Web Services (AWS). The event will primarily address how Microsoft’s Cloud infrastructure can benefit enterprises of all sizes in a "mobile-first, cloud-first" environment.
A webcast of the event will be available for those unable to attend. It will take place ahead of those of its rivals - Google's cloud event takes place on November 4, 2014 and Amazon’s AWS Re:invent conference takes place the week starting November 11, 2014.
