New Android App CloudGOO Enables Users to Combine Cloud Storage Accounts

A new Android application called CloudGOO enables users to combine their cloud storage accounts so they operate from a single mobile interface. The application, which was launched last week, operates as though the space available in multiple storage accounts were in fact available in one account, allowing users to store documents, music and videos and automatically upload photos. An iOS version of the app should be available shortly.

CloudGOO was developed by Jared Preston, a former Microsoft employee who worked on the Windows Live platform before joining Deutsche Telekom in Berlin, Germany. Although a number of other apps allow users to move between cloud storage accounts more easily, CloudGOO is the first which takes control over where items are stored and operates as though everything were being stored in a single account.

This means that multiple accounts held with, for instance, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, SugarSync, and Amazon Cloud Drive (which the app currently supports) can be viewed as a combined entity. Users can tweak the app so, for example, uploads only occur over wifi, and the system manages space available in each account independently of the user. Offline access is also supported, and tweaks like configuring cache size available.

CloudGOO costs 99 cents and is available at Google Play app store.
