Presidiohealth Selects Managed Services and Cloud Computing Company Datapipe’s HIPAA Compliance Package

Presidiohealth, a company that provides a number of cloud-based support services for doctors, has selected managed services and cloud computing company Datapipe’s HIPAA compliance package.

The package is deployed on Datapipe’s Stratosphere® private cloud as part of a custom solution which offers workflow applications and management and billing solutions.

Established in 2004, Presidio helps doctors "simplify their work day" by providing cloud-based technologies that streamline documentation and billing procedures. Its solutions include PerformMD, PerformPOS, and PerformRN.

Datapipe provides a range of services including private and public clouds, HIPAA, PCI compliance, security, database, networks, storage and disaster recovery. The company's tailored solution replaces Presidio's hosted in-house solution which proved to be costly, time consuming, and did not meet the company's high standards.

Alongside HIPAA and PCI Compliance Services, Datapipe's solution meets the Omnibus rule enforcement coming online September 23, 2013. The rule covers cloud services that maintain protected healthcare information.

“We originally selected a ‘standard services’ cloud provider who didn’t deliver on the promise of value-added services,” explained Presidio's Thomas P. Gregory, Chief Technology Officer. “They fell short when it came to security and compliance in a fully managed IT environment. That’s when we turned to Datapipe. Datapipe provides us with all the information that an auditor needs in order to prove that all the necessary data protection processes are in place – compliance is 20 percent technical and 80 percent process.”
