Private and Hybrid Cloud Provider iomart Group plc to Offer UK Public Sector More Services through G-Cloud 4
Private and hybrid cloud provider iomart Group plc will offer the United Kingdom Public Sector more services through G-Cloud 4. The services will include cloud and colocation hosting and the move comes after the company was selected for G-Cloud 4.
G-Cloud 4 is a list of pre-approved Cloud ICT providers chosen by the British government. G-Cloud 4 categorizes iomart's services under Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS), Platform As A Service (PaaS) and Software As A Service (SaaS).
iomart provides "bespoke mission-critical private and hybrid cloud and managed IT infrastructures" alongside more traditional cloud services such as storage, backup and security options. The company already caters to one of the United Kingdom's largest housing associations and a number of councils.
“As cloud becomes the de facto delivery mechanism for IT services, we are finding that public sector organizations are being much more specific about the type of cloud hosting services they are seeking from the G Cloud catalogue," explained iomart Group plc's CEO, Angus MacSween. "We have expanded our range to reflect the significant expertise we have in these areas. In addition, we have also been accredited for data center and colocation services, ensuring that we can offer prospective public sector clients the opportunity to utilize our nationwide estate of eight data centre locations and pan UK fiber network. This is particularly important as more and more Government organizations are seeking IT outsourcing disaster recovery and off-site storage solutions with trusted suppliers.”
